James “Bubba” Michael Latham, 64, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. Bubba was born on December 9, 1960 in Columbia, South Carolina to Barbara Jo Mack and the late James Randall Weaver. He worked in the fabrication industry where he was a retired welder. Bubba was a master welder, and was recognized in The State Newspaper for his welding work; where he welded all the banister rails at the Koger Center in Columbia. He enjoyed nature, in his free time he loved to fish, feed squirrels and birds. Bubba loved his Lord Jesus and his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his son, James Michael Latham, Jr.; brother, Jerry Galloway; sisters, Crystal Galloway and Robin Ard; grandson, Alexander Michael Latham; and many extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the home of his sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital or plant a tree in his name.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Stoney and Mary Alice Floyd and "Mr. Dunker" for looking out and caring for him throughout the years.
