James Black Pearston, III, 83, beloved husband of Barbara Elaine Pearston, died peacefully in his home, Sunday, June 19, 2022, in Lexington, SC.
He was born November 24, 1938 in Hartford, CT to James Black Pearston, Jr. and Carolyn W. Pearston. He graduated from UCONN with a degree in Forestry and played basketball and baseball during his college years. He moved his family to South Carolina in 1980, thankful to not have to shovel snow any longer.
After many years with Pleasant’s Contract Hardware, he retired to Cherry Grove, SC in 2005. He enjoyed golfing and good Italian food. In his later years, he returned to Lexington, SC to be close to his youngest daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by two siblings, Carolyn Lou Harrington, of Ludlow, MA, Patricia Ann Miller (David), of Englewood, FL; two children, Jonathon Louis Pearston of Little River, SC and Kimberly Joy Gorsage (John) of Lexington, SC; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild that he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by his parents, James Black Pearston, Jr and Carolyn W. Pearston; his sister, Beverly Jean Rhodes (Robert) of Summerfield, Fl, and his daughter, Michelle Elaine Lance of Lexington, SC.
