Jacqueline K. Mayers

Services for Jacqueline K. Mayers, 93, will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Historic B-L Chapel.  Burial will follow in Jacksonville Memorial Gardens in Orange Park, FL.  Visitation will be from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be, John Gietz, Hank Neeley II, David Rodgers, Austin Rodgers, Scotty Long and Hunter Whitaker.   Mrs. Mayers, widow of Joseph Mayers, died Saturday July 25, 2020.  Born in Norristown, PA a daughter of the late Walter McCurdy and Elizabeth Heidel and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Mayers was a member of the Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church , DAV, VFW, CPO Club, the Navy Relief Society at Jacksonville Naval Station and made blankets for patients at the Dorn VA Hospital.

  Survivors include a son, Walter H. Phillips (Lucy), daughters, Linda Hatt (William), Ruby Kathleen Grunenfelder (Russ), Bonney-Joe Genevieve Gietz (William), Jacqueline Ann Higgins (Ron Arnold) and Colleen E. Long (Scott), 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren.
