Our cherished Dale Key went to be home with his Savior and wife on November 12, 2025. He was born in Miami, FL on April 13, 1951 to parents Edward and Johnnie Key.
He later moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where he met the love of his life, Dianne, at Columbia Bible College. Dale and Dianne got married on December 1, 1978 and went on to have two children, Jonathan and Bethany, whom they raised in the church, instilling an adoration for our Lord and Savior. He went on to serve as a deacon at Lexington Presbyterian Church, leaving a legacy of devotion and righteousness.
Dale loved the smooth sounds of the Beach Boys and other soft rock, and he enjoyed making people laugh with his corny humor. Most of all, his passion was being a good and faithful servant to the Lord and discipling to others. Motivated by his unwavering faith in God, he would wake up every morning to spend time in God’s Word and send Bible verses to his family and friends.
Dale was predeceased by his loving wife, Dianne, who he can now finally embrace again.
He has temporarily departed from his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Carrie Key; his daughter, Bethany Key; his sister, Darla Merrell; and his grandchildren, Kylan Atwell, Riley Key, and Rebecca Key.
Dale will always be remembered as a man of faith who was devoted to his wife and family. He will forever be known for the love and light that radiated from his presence.
In memory of our beloved Dale, we encourage friends and loved ones to share their favorite stories, memories, and photos of him on the memorial page as a way to provide inspiration and strength for all who knew him.
Arrangements are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel.
