Iris M. House

Iris M. House, 89, of West Columbia passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on June 1, 2020.  A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 4 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, SC.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crescent Hill Baptist Church or Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church Building on Holy Ground Fund.

Iris was born on September 8, 1930, in Columbia, SC.  She was the daughter of Annie Pearl Porth Freshley and Butler Pierce Freshley.  She was preceded in death by husbands, Glenn Malachai Medlin and Woodie House, and her older sister, Doris Udovich.   She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Fulmer (Ronnie); step-daughter, Brenda Barwick (Frank); granddaughters, Sheila Eargle (Wayne), Kim Fulmer, Lisa Baker (Steven); grandson, Ryan Barwick (Bridget); and great-grandchildren, Connor Eargle, Hayden Eargle, Joshua Baker, Julia Baker, Andrew Baker, Dalton Baker, Evan Baker, and Jacob Barwick.   

Iris worked for Stone Manufacturing for 20 years.  She loved to be with her family and especially loved spending time together at their lake house where over the years she enjoyed skiing, jet skiing, fishing, and rides on the pontoon.  Iris loved her church, traveling, and attending performances at the local theater.
