Irmo – Homer M Jennings, 89, passed away February 3rd, 2020. Born in Newberry, SC, he was one of 12 children born to the late John Wesley Jennings and Lottie Corley Jennings. Homer enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and quality time with his family and friends. He was a truck driver and retired after 42 years of driving with Bowman Transportation and Huckabee.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mabel Bouknight Jennings; children, Wanda Costellia, Dan Jennings (Carla), Angela Price (Mike), and Jennifer Weed (Gene); 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Myrtle Romanus, Shirlean Sons, Bonnie Jones; many nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law, Edith Jennings. He was predeceased by a son, Audie Jennings.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6th, 2020 at Capers Chapel United Methodist Church (463 Capers Chapel Road, Little Mountain, SC, 29075), with the Rev. Cameron Levi officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery located beside the church. The family will receive visitors after the burial until 1:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Capers Chapel United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
