Henry H. Sellers, Jr.

Henry Harmon Sellers, Jr., known to us as “Henry or Papa”, was born in Conway, SC on December 11, 1937 and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 10, 2026. Henry was the son of the late Henry Harmon Sellers, Sr. and Lucille Nealy Sellers. He accepted Christ in his twenties and loved the Lord, his family, and serving his Lexington community.

After high school, Henry enlisted into the Navy for two years. During those two years, Henry met and married his loving wife of 56 years Eloise (Every) Sellers when he was stationed in Washington D.C. They were blessed with 4 children.

While in the Navy, Henry was able to travel to many countries during his service. He loved serving his country and helping protect our freedom. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Henry began his law enforcement service with the Columbia Police Department and the SC Highway Patrol. His testimony for Christ and resilient character were reflected in his long-standing career as a South Carolina Highway Patrolman, (Lt. Henry Sellers) a role in which he served with humility, honor, integrity, and a deep commitment to protecting his community. He was a life-time member with the SC Troopers Association.

Henry was not only a dedicated SC Highway Patrolman, but also a loving father/Papa, and a devoted member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and our Lexington community. Henry loved singing and playing his guitar at church, family events, and out in his community at numerous different venues. Every opportunity he got, he would break out in a song and usually have others singing along with him once he started singing.

Henry is survived by his loving daughters, Susan Sellers Drozd (David) and Teresa Lynn Sellers Braziel (James); sons, Henry (Hank) Sellers, III, and Timothy (Tim) Sellers (Carrie); 5 loving grandchildren: Whitney Drozd Taylor (Robert), Ashton Braziel Clemons (Chad), Cameron Braziel (Cheyenne), Alexandria Braziel Walker (Skyler), Austin Drozd, and Ryan; 3 loving great grandchildren: CJ Clemons, Ember Braziel, and Quinn Walker; and many wonderful and dear friends.

Henry was predeceased by his loving wife, Eloise Every Sellers; and his parents, Henry Harmon Sellers, Sr. and Lucille Nealy Sellers. He was also the last surviving of his three siblings: Evelyn Richardson, Carolyn Newton, and Donald Sellers.

On behalf of Henry’s family, we would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff, and residents at Spring Oak Assisted Living and MSA Hospice for their loving care Henry received during his last year with them.

The family invites you to remember and celebrate Henry's life on Friday, July 17, 2026. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel located at 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, South Carolina, 29072. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Let us remember Henry not only for his love for Christ, but also for the kindness and genuine human touch he brought to all our lives. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed on this Earth, but we know that we will see him again in heaven.
