Helen Marie (Mickey) Digges

Helen Marie (Mickey) Digges, 76, of Lexington SC, met her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Mickey was born in Columbia, SC to the late Helen Marie Travis. She graduated from Columbia High School. After graduation, she became a bookkeeper for Winn Dixie Corporation. She decided to be a stay-at-home mom so she could raise her two children. She later returned to work at WC Manufacturing and Specialty Company (Wesco Trailers) at which time she and Jerry purchased the business and became the Vice President and Treasurer. She retired in 2013.

Mickey was the most amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a woman who loved the Lord, her family, and set an example that would lead them all of their lives. She always made sure her family felt loved and included. She ensured that their every need was met. Tea Roses, ceramics, fishing, working in the yard, the beach and mountains were among some of her favorite things. Mickey had a laugh that was contagious and put a smile on everyone’s face. She spent her life working hard to ensure everyone’s happiness, and we are thankful to know that she is now able to rest in her heavenly home.

Mickey leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Jerry Digges; daughter, Diane Porter (Larry); son, Eddie White (Sonya); grandchildren: Krista Dangerfield (Corey), Russell Dawkins (Alicia), Daniel Dawkins (Sabrina); great grandchildren: Emma Dawkins, Piper Dangerfield, Wilder Dangerfield, River Dawkins, and Skyler Griffin; brother-in-law, Butch Digges (Monica) Joe Boyer, Jack and Jessie Stewart and their extended family, Aunt Roberta Tabor and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
