West Columbia- Helen Kyzer Shuler, 93, widow of Henry J. Shuler, passed away to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Agape Hospice House in Lexington, SC. Born in Columbia on February 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Q. Kyzer and Etolia D Kyzer. Helen was a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church, Cayce, SC. She was always willing to help and care for others. Mrs. Shuler was loved by her family and extended family at the Agape Hospice House. The staff affectionately nicknamed her “Shug.” Their love and compassionate care for her will never be forgotten. A special thanks for all the wonderful nurses, caregivers and staff at Agape Hospice House, you are so loved!
Helen is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hamilton (Jimmie); son-in-law Allan Wilson; grandchildren, Nikki Bockus, Jennifer Wilson, Kip Burgess (Katherine), and Justin Burgess (Mandy); great grandchildren, Anthony Bockus, Bradyn Pittman, Aly Pittman, Rion Pittman, Callie Grace Burgess, Caleb Burgess, Henry Burgess, and Oliver Burgess; great-great-grandchildren, Maddie, Emelia, and Mia; and a brother, George Melton Kyzer.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband of 50 years, Henry Julian Shuler; daughter, Trudy Wilson; sister, Myrtle Spigner; brother, Jake Kyzer; and great-grandson, Crosson Avery Burgess.
Graveside services will be conducted 2pm Monday, May 3, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Alexander Twedt officiating. Memorials may be made to Transfiguration Lutheran Church 1301 12th St. Cayce, SC 29033. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
