Heather Megan Kjelgaard

Heather Megan Kjelgaard, 34, passed away October 9, 2020 in Clermont, Florida. The daughter of Nola Kjelgaard and the late Scott Kjelgaard, Heather was born in Newport News, VA. She grew up in Hilton Head and Lexington, SC.

Heather graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Electrical Engineering. As a third generation engineer, she put her skills to use first interning at Disney World Animal Kingdom before accepting a permanent position with Disney World Magic Kingdom. 

Her passions in life were widespread and included robotics, puzzles, and gaming. She tended to her garden as a way to stay close to her father. Heather loved to spend time with her dogs, Ben and Schatten, who brought her joy even during hard times. She was looking forward to settling down and starting a family of her own.

Heather will always be remembered for her desire to help others. She would go out of her way to make sure everyone stayed safe whether they were friend or stranger. She used her wits, humor, and smile to brighten others' days. 

She is survived by her mother, Nola Kjelgaard; sister and brother in law, Stephanie and Nicholas Miller; niece, Aria Miller; and her sister of the heart, Joline Pixler. Heather will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Scott Kjelgaard.

The memorial service will be held on December 12, 2020 at 2:00 at Barr Price Funeral Home in Lexington, SC. A family visitation will be held from 1:00 to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to To Write Love On Her Arms at www.twloha.com/donate.
