Harry Melvin Manus, Jr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Harry Melvin Manus, Jr. announces his passing on Monday, January 5, 2026 at the age of 83.

He was born on June 21, 1942.  He graduated from Brookland Cayce High School and attended the University of South Carolina.  He then proudly joined the US Army and served his country with pride.

He worked for Daniel Construction Company, the Alaskan Pipeline, and construction projects at the VC Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville, South Carolina.

Melvin was predeceased by his wife, Sandra G. Manus; and his parents Harry M. Manus, Sr. and Elizabeth Fulmer Manus.

He will be greatly missed by his son,  Dean Hunt; brother,  Woody L. Manus (Brenda); sisters, Ann M. Spainhour (Gary) and Joy M. Smith (Lee); his uncle, Harold Fulmer and aunt, Ola Mae Fulmer of Prosperity; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice Care, VA Hospital, and especially the staff of Dialysis Care at the VA.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000B Avenue. West Columbia, SC 29169 on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. following the visitation at the church. Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
