Beloved husband, father, and Pappap, Guy Colden Corbett, Jr. passed peacefully at home on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Guy was born at Moncrief Hospital on Fort Jackson on October 1, 1957 to Guy Colden Corbett, Sr. and Willie Mae King Corbett. He worked as an Electronics Technician and was a proud member of the South Carolina Air National Guard at McIntyre.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Slavin Corbett; daughter, Christy Owens (Matt); son, Andrew Corbett (Trang); grandchildren, Woody Owens, Eddie Mae Owens, Constantine Corbett and baby Corbett, due in June.
He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Susan and Bobby Norris of Greenville and several cousins that were like siblings to him; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Niles and Carol Slavin from Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to him with their chanting of “Uncle Guy, Uncle Guy”.
Guy had many loved dogs that will meet him at the rainbow bridge and he leaves behind Betty, Beau and Buddy who loved him dearly. He was a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and attended USC (Go Cocks!).
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will be at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11:00 am.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
