Gregory Allen Price, age 72, of Gilbert, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2026, to be with the Lord. He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Ralph and Sue Price.
Allen is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Floyd Price; his daughter, Randi Plemmons and her husband, Tim; his stepsons, Ryan Floyd and his wife, Taylor, Drew Floyd, Robert “Obie” Cohn and his wife, Rachel; his grandchildren, Kendall Jones and her husband, Zach, Alyssa Floyd, Aiden Floyd, Wylder Floyd, Sadie Cohn, Stella Cohn, Maggie Plemmons, Natalie Plemmons, and Miles Plemmons; his great-grandson, Banks Jones; his siblings, David T. Price Sr. and Joy Yelton; and Kristian Williams, a cherished member of the family, along with many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Sue Price; his brother, Timmy Price; his granddaughter, Bryn Floyd; and his grandson, Leland Plemmons.
Allen was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and larger-than-life personality. Allen never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people laugh and a way of making everyone around him feel welcome. Whether he was telling stories, sharing a joke, or simply spending time with those he loved, he brought joy wherever he went. Allen shared a special bond with his soulmate of 40 years, Kay—a bond that could not be broken. More than anything, Allen loved his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with those he loved. His family was his greatest accomplishment and his greatest source of pride.
He will be remembered for his laughter, his strength, his unwavering faith, and the love he so freely gave. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now healed, at peace, and in the presence of his Savior.
A service will be held to celebrate Allen's life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. In honor of his love for animals and wildlife, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Carolina Wildlife Rescue in lieu of flowers.
