Gloria A Rickenbaker Steele

Gloria Alice Rickenbaker Steele, 81, of West Columbia passed away August 3, 2022. Gloria, also known as Mama, Nanny, Nee, Sug, Cutta, and as a devout Christian, has gone home to be with her Lord and Saviour. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Marion Steele.  She is also survived by her children, Michele (Ken) and Craig (Mandy); and three grandchildren, Brett, Taylor, and C.J.; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gloria began her life in humble beginnings, one of 6 siblings to a single mother.  She grew up in Cameron, SC.  She met her husband, Marion in 1962.  Two years later they were happily wed, and welcomed their first child a year later.  Three years later, a son was also welcomed.  They lived a happy and busy life, but really committed themselves to the Lord in 1972.  Gloria, along with Marion and many wonderful friends, dedicated her life to reaching others for the Lord.  Her greatest desire was to spread His love and kindness. 

To share in a celebration of her life we would welcome you to join us Sunday, August 7, 2022 at South Lexington Baptist Church, 116 Brevard Parkway, Lexington, SC, 29073.  Visitation will be from 2:00pm - 3:00pm with the service to begin at 3:00pm.
