Gerald Wayne Johnson

Gerald W. Johnson, born September 5, 1947, passed away March 23, 2026, at his home with his family by his side. Gerald served in the Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of The American Legion Post 101 of Pelion, SC.

He is survived by his wife Karen Johnson, son; Troy Johnson (Mona), grandson; Taylor Johnson (Hilary), granddaughters; Ali Batton (Freddie), Cassidy Lee (Alex); sister; Gwen Luther (Richard), sister-in-law; Linda Johnson, and seven great-grandchildren. Gerald was predeceased by his father, Rock Johnson, mother, Aizlee Johnson, sister, Brenda Bartlett and brother, David Johnson.

There will be no formal services, a small family gathering at a later date will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate or Shriners Children’s Hospital at https://donate.shrinerschildrens.org. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Johnson family with arrangements. To all those who knew and loved him, thank you for being his friend.
