Gerald G. Jeter

Lexington – Funeral Services for Gerald G. Jeter, 90, will be held 11 am Monday, March 20, 2023 at Kittiwake Baptist Church, 420 Kittiwake Drive, West Columbia, with burial to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.

Gerald, a resident at Oakleaf Village of Lexington, passed away March 16, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Ahoskie, NC, he was a son of Robert S. and Hancy Barrow Jeter. He graduated from Ahoskie High School and attended business school at Chowan College, Murfreesboro, NC. He was also a founding member of Kittiwake Baptist Church.

Gerald served in the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson and at AFFE Headquarters Camp Zama, Japan. He retired from the SC Department of Insurance.

Gerald is survived by his sister, Mary Simpson of Bullock, NC; daughter, Debi Brandt (John) of Savannah, GA; son, Gerald “Craig” Jeter (Melody) of Gaston and three grand children; Jamie Jeter, Joey Brandt and Larren Kneale.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Porter Jeter of 40 years, and his second wife, Frances Norris Jeter of 19 years; his sister, Pearl Scherr; and brother, Robert Lee Jeter.

Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
