It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Gerald Harmon Key on October 8, 2025. Born in Aiken County, South Carolina on April 27, 1939, Gerald was a steadfast and reliable pillar of the Lexington community for over 65 years. He was well known for his dedication and reliability, having transported countless loads across the country during his career as a truck driver in the transportation industry.
Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Annette Key; and his devoted daughter, Debora (Roy) Price; and loving son, Jesse Key; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Hattie Key and a daughter, Geraldine Stogner.
The visitation for Gerald will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 3:00pm- 5:00 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium located at 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, South Carolina. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 1:00pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jesse Key, Dean Price, Brandon Price, Steven Price, Noah Price, and Jeff Key. Honorary Pallbearers will be Victor Cotton, Jeremie Rauch, BJ Price, and Roger Herron. Gerald will be laid to rest at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, South Carolina, following the funeral service. Services for Gerald are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
