George "Cliff" Lee

Sunday June 5, 2022 George Clifton (Cliff) Lee’s journey on earth ended which is a step on the road to his heavenly home.  Cliff was born August 25, 1936 in Columbia, SC.  He was the son of George C.(Buster) Lee and Louise Worrell Lee.

Cliff attended Brookland Cayce High School and the University of South Carolina.  He worked many years in the engineering field for several companies.  He served in the Air Force locally and abroad.  Cliff was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Military Order of Stars and Bars.  He enjoyed fishing, sailing, flying and camping in his RV.  Most of all he enjoyed dancing to his favorite shag music.  In January 2011 Cliff was inducted in to the South Carolina Shaggers Hall of Fame and in May 2004 in to the Sand Flea Living Legend Association at Ocean Drive Beach.

Surviving are his wife Brenda Connor Lee of Columbia, SC, daughter Deanna (Jeff) Smith of Gulf Breeze, FL, son Kip Lee of Pensacola, FL, and daughter Alyson Mitchell of Lexington, SC.  He is predeceased by his parents.

Service will be held at Saluda River Baptist Church, 3459 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC on Saturday, June  11 at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will be held at the church at 1:00 PM prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at Bush River Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to your favorite animal shelter or the Saluda River Baptist Church Family Life Center.
