George William Rawl

Wagener-The family will receive friends for George "Jordie" William Rawl, 17, on Monday, July 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the Memorial Service to be conducted Tuesday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1721 Old 96 Indian Trail, Batesburg, SC 29006. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to APAA "George's Playground Fund" In Care of Angeline Rawl, P.O. Box 418, Aiken, SC 29802.
George passed away, Friday, July 12, 2013. Born in Augusta, GA he was a son of Carroll Edwin and Angeline Newman Rawl, Jr. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a 2013 graduate of Aiken Performing Arts Academy, took cello lessons at Carolina String Academy, and obtained a Black Belt from Aiken Taekwondo. He was active with the 4-H, recently began learning to shoot a compound bow and was an avid X-Box gamer. George met life's challenges with faith, bravery, and valiance; cancer being his last.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Jessica Anne Rawl; maternal grandmother, Patsy Bannister Newman; paternal grandparents, Carroll E. and Betty Britt Rawl, Sr.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.
