Gene W. Bachman died on Oct. 18, 2020 at the age of 82. He was born in Lexington County in the town of Redbank to Alvin W. and Lila K. Bachman on Dec. 4, 1937. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1957 and went into the Army Reserves. He then went to work at Mid Carolina Electric Coop where he ended up retiring after being employed there for 36 years. He married the love of his life, Sheron and they have been married for 56 ½ years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he was elected to serve on the church council several times along with being on the property committee. His favorite things were fishing, hunting, go kart racing, watching Nascar (he was a big Dale Earnhardt) fan, listening to country music, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Sheron C. Bachman of Gilbert; children, Marty C. Bachman of Gilbert, Candy Kyzer (Timothy) of Gilbert, Joye Kitchings (Scott) of Gilbert; grandchildren, Jonathan Kyzer (Carla), Andrew Kyzer, Dylan Kyzer of Gilbert, Morgan Kitchings, and Madison Kitchings of Gilbert, Michael Bachman, Isabella Bachman, Gabriella Bachman of Chapin; and brother, Dwight Bachman (Hazel) of Lexington
Gene was predeceased by his father, Alvin W. Bachman and his mother, Lila K. Bachman
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Barr Price Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Gilbert followed by burial at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery on Priceville Hwy., Gilbert. Memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 246 St. Paul’s Church Road, Gilbert, SC 29054.
