Gail Gregory Landry Obituary

Gail Landry of Batesburg, SC, was called home unexpectedly on October 9, 2025, a month shy of her 70th birthday, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.

Born on November 14, 1955, in Brunswick, GA. She lived a life marked by family, humor, faith, and joy in life’s simple blessings. She had a kind and tender heart, loving people and animals — all creatures great and small — without condition or hesitation.

She shared 47 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Alan “Al” Landry. Together, they built a life grounded in unwavering love and commitment, setting a lasting example of what true partnership means for their children and grandchildren. She and Al spent treasured years in Charleston before laying down roots in Batesburg, yet Gail’s heart always remained tied to “The Farm” in the Lake Chapel community, where her family often gathered.

Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother and great-grandmother — a role she cherished even more than being a mother, if such a thing were possible. She poured her heart into her family, finding happiness in every shared smile, story, and hug.

Gail believed in the beauty of traditional values and the power of simple kindness. Her handwritten cards and thoughtful notes were small treasures that brought comfort and joy to everyone blessed enough to receive them.

She was funny and quick-witted, always ready for a good joke and a hearty laugh. She found joy in the little things — a quiet cup of coffee, a game of Scrabble, or baking something sweet to share. Her peanut brittle was legendary, and her hugs were even better.

She cherished every handmade gift and lit up with delight when her loved ones offered her something from the heart — whether it was a homemade sweet treat, a piece of art, or a song sung just for her. She proudly shared these treasures with everyone, beaming with pride and joy for the love they represented.

Gail is survived by her loving husband, Al Landry; her beloved boys, Brandon Landry (Susie) and Shane Landry; her treasured grandchildren Caitie Landry (DeMarcus Perry), Maggie & James Landry and their mother Heidi Landry; she was also blessed with bonus grands Brittiny Roberson (Nick) and Heather (Allen) Riley; her adored great grandchild Xayleigh Perry and bonus great-grands Mia, Buddy, and Eli Roberson & Derrick, Zack, Lucas, and Jaxon Riley. She is also survived by her siblings Greg (Jeannie) Gregory, Hal (Sherri) Gregory, and her little sister & best friend, Donna Gregory Bennett; She is also survived by her brothers- and sister in-law, Ken (Candi) Landry, Sue (Mark) Guidotti, Rick Landry (Pauline Roth), Mark (Lisa) Landry, Steve (Diane) Landry, Paul (Vicki) Landry, and Brian Landry; as well as her loving aunt, Nona Olliff Stephens; cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special cousins, friends, and numerous “kiddos” that she adored

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill & Gloria Gregory and her in-laws, Alfred & Marguerite Landry.

Though her family grieves deeply, they find comfort in knowing that Gail’s beautiful spirit lives on through the compassion she so greatly showed others. Her laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will forever echo in their hearts.
