G. Harvey Boatwright

Leesville-Services for George Harvey Boatwright, 70, will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at St. James Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter Morey officiating Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home Historic B-L Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 102 Fortress Dr. Chapin, SC 29036, or St. Judes, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105.

Mr. Boatwright passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021.  Born in Columbia, He was the son of the late Clarence Vernon and Bernice Burgess Boatwright. Mr. Boatwright was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church as long as his health permitted. He was a former employee of DuBose farms, retired from Roof Hardware, was a former EMT and Volunteer at Monetta Fire Department, and was an Army veteran in the Vietnam War.

  Surviving are his wife Linda Harmon Boatwright; daughter, Amanda Boatwright; sister, Teresa Price (Leonard); step sons, Tim Oswald and Waylon Oswald (Tonya); 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Deborah Rhoden (Robert); brothers-in-law, Craig Harmon and Michael Harmon; special friends, Kay and Santania Martin, Danielle and Ben Abernathy; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
