Freeda Walden Kenley

Mrs. Freeda Walden Kenley, 81, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. Born on January 18, 1945, in Monroe, North Carolina, she lived a life defined by love, kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Freeda was the beloved daughter of the late William "PeeWee" Sanford Walden and Clara "Louise" Pressley Walden. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Cecil "Tommy" Kenley; her brothers, Nolan Walden and Kenneth Walden; her sister, Nancy Austin; and her son-in-law, Jason Sherrill.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, Jeremy Kenley (Brandi); her daughter, Chantel Sherrill; her treasured grandchildren, Jason Kendrick, Jackson Kenley, Lily Sherrill, Charles Kenley, and Levi Sherrill; and her brother, Ronnie Walden (Fran), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Freeda dedicated more than 40 years of service to Coca-Cola, where she was known for her hard work, dedication, and the friendships she built throughout her career.

A faithful member of Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Unionville, North Carolina, Freeda's faith was an important part of her life. She found joy in the simple blessings God provided—spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, tending to her beautiful plants, sharing lunches with friends, taking peaceful walks on the beach, and traveling to make new memories.

To know Freeda was to know unconditional love. She was generous to a fault, never hesitating to help someone in need or offer a kind word. She welcomed everyone with an open heart, possessed a spirited and feisty personality that made her unforgettable, and was truly one of the kindest women anyone could hope to know. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of Freeda's life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church 3619 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, North Carolina 28110. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:40 p.m. prior to the service at the church In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Freeda's memory. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Freeda is now resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior and her legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and faith will live on through her family and in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
