Freddie Lee Haltiwanger Obituary

Freddie Lee Haltiwanger, 70, of Lexington, died Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was the son of the late F. Harold and Kincey Lee Haltiwanger.

Freddie graduated in 1971 from Gilbert High School. He was a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church and retired from BellSouth/AT&T Telephone Company in 2004 with 30 years of service. He was a member of SC Army National Guard, Masonic Lodge and 32nd degree with The Scottish Rite.

He is survived by his wife, Pearline “Tina” Dunbar Haltiwanger of 49 years and 50 weeks; sons, Eric Benjamin and Jacob Rayburn Haltiwanger; along with his beloved dog “Flash”, who was his constant companion, and each others caretaker during his cancer journey; sisters, JoAnn Gunter, Brenda Williams, Wanda (Gene) Barefoot, Nancy (Norman) Brooks; brother, Paul (Teresa) Haltiwanger; brother-in-law, Dr. Elton (Wanda) Dunbar; sisters-in-law, Linda (Freddie) Lucas and Laura Roland. Also surviving are 8 nephews and 13 nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents; in-laws, Ray  and Pearle Dunbar; brothers-in-law, Allan Williams, Vernon Proctor, Ted Derrick, Phil Roland, Cook Addy, sister-in-law, Elaine Addy; and great niece, Destiny Derrick.

Freddie loved and was devoted to his family and friends. He loved and enjoyed gardening, farming and was a jack of all trades sharing his knowledge, advice and assistance when others were in need. He enjoyed time with Cars for Christ classic cars club and hosting gatherings with family and friends at “FREDDY’S SHEDDY”.

The family would like to give thanks to Lexington Oncology, Lexington Urology, Internal Medicine Associates and LMC Staff who cared for Freddie along with everyone’s love, calls, visits and support for the family.

Memorials may be made to Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, Building Fund, PO Box 84055, Lexington, SC 29073 or Lexington Medical Center, Attn: Foundation Office for Cancer Care, 2720 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169.

Visitation will be held 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, Lexington, SC.  A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, 2373 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
