Frank Earle Howard

Frank E. Howard, 95, of Lexington, SC passed away peacefully on the morning of April 2, 2025. He was born in Greer, SC on November 4, 1929. Frank was a son of the late Arietta Pruitt Howard and Earle Haskell Howard.

Frank was raised in Greer, SC and was a graduate of Duncan High School. Frank met his wife, Blanche (Peggy) Howard while both were students at Columbia Commercial College. After college Peggy and Frank were married and resided in Cayce, SC. They were long-time members of the Lutheran Church of the Transfiguration where Frank served on the church council, taught Sunday school, was a member of the chancel choir, and was a pitcher on the men’s softball team. Frank and Peggy later were members of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Lexington, SC where he sang in the choir. Frank also acted and sang in many local plays and musical productions over the years. Frank was a long-time manager at Pet Dairy in Aiken, Columbia, and Spartanburg. He retired with Pet after 42 years.  After retirement Frank and Peggy traveled the world together. They celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary on February 13, 2025.

Frank is survived by his wife of 76 years, Blanche (Peggy) Harmon Howard; daughter, Dianne Smith (Ron); daughter, Paula Howard (Lori Seitz); and son, David Howard (Crystal); Grandchildren, Shelli Denne (Charlie); Patrick Cribb; Lauren Knox (Zak); and Zack Howard; Great-grandchildren, Mason Tanner (Heather); Chay Denne (Kelsey); Colby Denne (Haley); Olivia Denne; Joshua Cribb; Gabriella Cribb; Raimi Cribb; Levi Knox; and Lottie Knox; Great-Great grandchildren, Brier Tanner; Brexley Tanner; Briggs Tanner; Braz Tanner.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Arietta Pruitt Howard and Earle Haskell Howard; and brothers Malcolm “Mack” Howard; and Wyndal Howard.

A Memorial Service will be held at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
