Frances Compton McDaniel, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13th at her home in Lexington, South Carolina. A long-time native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Mrs. McDaniel lived the past nine years with her daughter in Lexington, South Carolina.
Mrs. McDaniel was born on June 10, 1925 in Cedar Grove, North Carolina to Carrie and Frank Compton. She married the love of her life, Paul L. McDaniel, on December 14, 1946. He passed away on December 4, 1996. She retired from Western Union after 32 years and then worked for Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. for another 15 years before finally retiring. She loved to walk, spend time at the beach, and was active in her church.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda McDaniel Farrar (Ronnie-deceased) of Reidsville, NC, Anne McDaniel Prevo (David) of Jamestown, NC and Susan McDaniel Balcerzak (Edward) of Lexington, SC; son, Les McDaniel (Aurora) of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Angie Farrar O’Bryant, Scott Farrar (deceased), Brandon Palmer, Leslie Palmer, Tony Prevo, and Danny Prevo; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Oscar Compton, of Hillsborough, NC.
A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Three Angels Seventh-day Adventist Church in Batesburg, South Carolina.
