Eugene (Gene) Owen Auld, 62, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Gene was born January 24, 1957, in West Columbia, South Carolina to Norman Tilton Auld and Lorna Williams Auld.
Gene was a 1975 graduate of Airport High School and went on to be a dedicated employee of Carolina Eastman Chemical Company for over thirty-five years where he retired in 2011. He then continued working for DAK Americas until medically retiring in March 2017 due to Parkinson's Disease, in which he was diagnosed in 2013.
On October 24, 1987, Gene married the love of his life, Karen Potter Auld. The two of them went on to have three children, Morgan, Nolan, and Peyton. Gene was a lifelong diehard USC Gamecock fan, a Master Mason and Shriner, and an avid trivia player at Wings and Ale.
Gene was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Karen Auld, his parents, Norman and Lorna Auld and brother, Warrick Auld. He is survived by his three children, Morgan, Nolan and Peyton, his granddog, Kaiah, his brother, Wayne (Tracy) Auld, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Gene will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Mt. Horeb UMC (1205 Old Cherokee Rd. Lexington, SC 29073). Visitation will begin at 12 pm with services beginning at 1 pm. Graveside services immediately following at Southland Memorial Gardens (700 W Dunbar Rd. West Columbia, SC 29170).
