Ervin Lewie Oswald, 79, of Leesville, South Carolina passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 peacefully in his home surrounded by family. Ervin was born on December 13, 1946, in Lexington County, South Carolina to the late Lewie and Mary Evelyn Hall Oswald. Ervin worked as a textile supervisor at Wellington Industries for over 30 years. In his younger years, Ervin was an avid fisherman and loved a good round of golf. Upon retiring, he spent his days with his beloved wife Libby gardening, watching ball, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Libby) Oswald; brothers, Marvin Oswald (Pam) and Wayne Oswald (Cindy); his children, Mike Oswald, Sam Harris, Mike Harris (Becky), Jeannie Harris, Andy Harris (Kim); grandchildren, Cole, Zach, Justin (Lee), Chris, Tyler, Zach, Sophie, Nicolas, Jesse (Kayla), Michael, James, Xavier, Trinity, Isaiah, Cailyn, Darryl (Tiffany), Courtney (Jeff), Chad, and Anthony; great- grandchildren, JulieAnne(Corey), Tyler (Liz), Alex, Bredyn, Michael, SadieGrace, MacieLayne, MiaMarie, Logan, ElizaClaire, Harper, Chandler, Wade, Brock, Caidyn, Jailyn, Estella, Patrick, Craygen, Savannah, Lyric, Mason, Nova, Avery, Zander, Khaleesi, Julya, Samantha, Sydney, Cameron; and great-great grandchildren, Waylon and Willow.
Ervin leaves behind a vast legacy, in addition to the names above there is a vast number of honorary grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Lewie and Mary Evelyn; siblings, Billy and Arline; daughter Cheryl, and son in law, Ken; and granddaughter, Ashley.
Memorial services for Ervin Lewie Oswald will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Barr- Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Joseph “Butch” Day, Ervin’s lifelong best friend. The family will receive friends and family an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or American Kidney Fund.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the team at Lutheran Hospice for the extraordinary care, compassion, and kindness shown to Ervin and the family during the duration of his care.
