Cayce, SC-Funeral Services for Eloise Cooper Willard, 87, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Platt Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Platt Springs United Methodist Church, 3215 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
Mrs. Willard was born October 18, 1931 in Williamsburg County and passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019. She was a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Fannie B. Cooper. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Amy Hendrix (Mark) of Brevard, NC, Joanne Loveless (Bruce) of Chapin, SC, Sherry Bailey of Springdale, SC; son, Chris (Amy ) Willard of Cayce, SC; stepson, John Willard of Doncaster, England; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren; siblings, Phil (Nancy) Cooper of Florence, SC, Diane (Gerald) Harrelson of Rock Hill, SC, and Cathy (Garrett) Graham of Andrews, SC; sister-in-law, Sarah Cooper of Savannah, GA; brother-in-law, Alton Gaskins of Macedonia, SC; and, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene H. Willard; son-in-law, Bobby Bailey; grandson, Chase Loveless; siblings, Tom Cooper of Savannah, GA, Doris (Jack) Elliott of Andrews, SC, Belle Gaskins of Macedonia, SC, Virginia (Shelton) Shealy of Macedonia, SC, Mary Evelyn Cooper, and Benjamin Cooper.
Mrs. Willard was beloved by many. Her home and her table were always open to family, friends and her wonderful neighbors. Nothing brought her greater joy than taking care of others and preparing meals, especially her “famous” turkey and dressing, for family and friends. She always put others’ needs before her own and was fiercely dedicated to her family. She retired from LLR after many years of faithful service and was a member of Platt Springs United Methodist for over fifty years. She will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
