Services for Elmer Legrand Amick, 90, will be held 4 pm Saturday March 26, 2011 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with Pastor Mike Watson. Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 4-7pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Nazareth Lutheran Church 1800 Nazareth Church Rd. Mr. Amick, Husband of the late Mary Ellen Harmon Amick, passed away Wednesday March 23, 2011. Born in Chapin, SC he was the son of the late Berley Jonas and Lottie Amick Amick. He was a member of Lexington Post # 7, life member of DAV Post West Columbia, Clayton Durham # 28 and the Friendship Group at Nazareth Lutheran Church. He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and a W WII Army Veteran where he was awarded the Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal.
He is survived by his sons, Harvey (Patsy) and Leroy (Lisa) Amick; daughters, Marie Ballington (Roy), Joann Shealy (Tim); sister, Marjorie Rish,; son-in-law, Jerry Smith; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
He is pre-deceased by a daughter, Louise Smith; sisters, Sue Riley, Lucille Meetze and Leona Avery and a grandson Wade Ballington.
