Earl C. Oswald

Leesville-Services for Earl Charles Oswald, 101, will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel with the Rev. Mark Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.Org).

Mr. Oswald passed away Friday, August 8, 2025.  Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late John Washington and Elizabeth Busbee Oswald. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church, attended St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, was a Veteran of WWII and Korea and served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.  “Daddy Earl” was a longtime cattle and hay farmer, continuing his agriculture operation, Oswald Farms, well into his 90s.

Surviving are his family, Rose Marie Hall (Bob) and Diane Spradley; 5 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Mary Giresi Oswald, son-in-law, Dr. Elza S. “Sandy” Spradley, Jr., sisters, Eunice Smith and Gertrude Norris, brothers, John Fletcher, Elmer, James, and Clyde Oswald.
