Dr. Merry L. Henderson

Dr. Merry Lee Henderson was a caring and loving mother, Nana, sister, and friend.  She was called home to be with the Lord suddenly on January 8, 2023 at the age of 72.
    She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Louis Lawrence Moorman and Doris Isabel Moorman on November 22, 1950.  After graduating from high school Merry Lee continued her education and went on to achieve her Doctorate's Degree in School Psychology from the University of South Carolina.  She worked for Richland School District One as a school psychologist until retirement.
    Merry Lee was a member of Christian Life Church and lived her life for God, her kids, and grandkids.  She not only had a giving heart but was selfless and had a great spirit of discernment.  She enjoyed going to church and fellowshipping with her friends in the senior adult ministry.
    Merry Lee spent a lot of her past time doing things for her family and watching shows and sports.  She was an avid football fan and always watched the Carolina Gamecocks and Pittsburgh Steelers. 
    Merry Lee touched the lives of so many with her wisdom, generosity, compassion, and acceptance.  Although she is no longer with us her legacy will continue on through those who knew her.
    Merry Lee was predeceased by Louis Moorman (father) and Doris Moorman (mother).  She is survived by James Moorman (brother) of Forest City, NC, Barbara Harris (sister) of Cincinnati, OH, her four children: Jay Henderson (Karen) of Charleston, SC; Susan Dandridge of Columbia, SC; Elizabeth Wilson of Columbia, SC; and Bethany Wardlaw (Jason) of Lexington, SC, her eleven grandchildren: Kirsten, Aaryanna, Sierra, Jayden, Isaiah, Olivia, Emma, Etty, Sawyer, Shepherd, and Ellie, and her nieces and nephew.
     Dr. Merry Lee Henderson's memorial service will be held at Christian Life Church in the Brown Chapel located at 2700 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210 on February 4, 2023 at 1pm. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
