Dorothy Jumper Taylor

Funeral services for Dorothy Jumper Taylor, 92, will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2022 at First Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Calvary Baptist Church, 2320 Cedar Grove Road, Leesville, SC 29070 or St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family.

Mrs. Taylor passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Bennie O. and Addie Rae Koon Jumper. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church and retired from General Electric.

Surviving are sons, Broadus Taylor (Krissie), and Harold Taylor (Gloria); daughters, Shirley Snelgrove,  Carolyn Swygert; sisters, Betty Jo Day, Maurice Rae Derrick, Mary Ann Risinger, Sandra Kay Clamp, Rachel Lowman, Elaine Eargle, and Linda Shealy, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold “Bill” Taylor; brothers, William and James Jumper and a great-grandson, Rylan Swygert.
