Memorial services for Dorothy Jean Roland Spradley, 81, will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Mrs. Spradley passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She was born in Lexington County a daughter of the late Rev. Sydney Ray Roland and Pauline Beatrice Stoudenmire Roland. Dorothy loved flowers, was an avid gardener and spent most of her time in her yard tending to her flowers and cutting grass. She loved hummingbirds and spending time at Edisto Beach.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Steve J. Spradley, daughters; Denise Spradley Casey, Candy Spradley Hall, Stephanie Norris (Keith), brother; Rev. Larry Roland (Barbara) grandchildren; Patrick Ryan “JR” Hall, Jr. (Elizabeth), Matthew Casey, Christopher Samuel “Sam” Norris (Brittany) great grandchildren; Dani DiFranco and Skiler Norris. She was predeceased by brothers, Ronald, Wayne, and Roger Roland and a sister, Patsy Lybrand.
