Dorothy H. Harmon

Leesville-Dorothy Johnsie Hite Harmon, 94, was reunited with her Lord Jesus Christ on January 6, 2022. She was the youngest daughter of Moton Jayloyd Hite, Sr. and Connie Maydo Johnston Hite, who both have entered eternal rest before her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Thornwell “T.C.” Harmon, her sons, Timothy Charles Harmon and Michael Jon Harmon, and all four of her siblings.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Carol Joan Harmon Smith, son-in-law Donald Lee Smith and daughter-in-law, Sam Waters. Her living family extends to 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and a long-time member of St. James Lutheran Church in Leesville, SC. She was also a graduate of Gilbert High School. The pallbearers will be Ethan Keisler, Nathan Shealy, Arrion Chavis, Ricky Brown Jr., Douglas LaFlam, Jeffrey VanNest. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Johnson, Timothy Harmon, John Hite, Brad “Larry” Senterfeit, Joni Senterfeit Lowrimore, and Steve Hite as well as Women’s Mission group of St James Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be held at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Historic B-L Chapel, on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will also be held at Barr-Price Funeral Home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 3:00 PM, followed by burial at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery. We ask that you please be cognizant of the Covid procedures due to our elder family members.
