Dorothy S. McIver

Dorothy S. McIver, beloved mother and grandmother, gained her heavenly wings on January 27, 2026, at the age of 92, filling the heavens with the same radiance she brought to the world. She was born on June 22, 1933 to Lucious and Orita Sharpe and was a lifelong resident of Lexington County. She lived out her days in the warm embrace of West Columbia, South Carolina, leaving behind a legacy that was as extraordinary as the life she lived.

Dorothy was a woman of strength, resilience, and remarkable dedication. She dedicated over four decades of her life to the railroad industry, where she held the position of an assembler until her retirement. The fruits of her labor were not only visible in the humming engines she helped construct but also echoed in the countless lives she touched through her work. Her perseverance and commitment to her craft were second only to her devotion to her family. Dorothy indeed climbed her mountains, and she did so with grace and determination, leaving an indelible impact wherever she went.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Lucious and Orita Sharpe; beloved husband, Tullie McIver, Sr.; and son, Tullie McIver III. Surviving are her children, Ben. L McIver Sr., Deborah McIver and Patty Wingard. She was dearly loved by her grandchildren great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and the many family members and friends who loved her

A memorial service in honor of Dorothy McIver will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11:00am EST at the Pleasant Pines Independent Baptist Church, located at 401-407 South Main Street, Gaston, South Carolina, 29053.
