Mrs. Doris Riddle Hite, 96, of Batesburg passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Saluda Nursing Center. She was born on January 21, 1930 in Saluda County, South Carolina to the late Alvin Drayton and Ollie Holley Riddle. Doris was a graduate of Hollywood High School and the Baptist Hospital Nursing School, Class of 1951. She later became a Dental Hygienist at Dr. John Parler, Jr.’s Dental Office in Batesburg. Doris grew up in Union Lutheran Church in Leesville and after marriage she became a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Saluda.
Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Hite Minick (Gehrig) and Donna Hite Fulmer (Von Shealy); sister-in-law, Elaine Riddle; grandchildren, Sarah Minick, Jesse Minick, Jenny Lindler, and Ryan Fulmer; 7 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by husband, Charlie Hite, Jr. “Sonny Boy”; brothers, Joe Riddle, Ray Riddle, Glenn Riddle, Rev. Ralph Riddle, and Paul Riddle; and sister, Evelyn Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Sardis Baptist Church – Saluda with the Rev. Kyle Harmon officiating. Burial and committal service led by the Rev. Emily Hartman-Blackburn will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park – Batesburg with a rose laying tribute by her granddaughters and great-granddaughters, Sarah Minick, Jenny Lindler, Gracie Minick, Brenna Minick, Ellie Lindler, and Aubrey Lindler. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the social hall. Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Jesse Minick, Ryan Fulmer, Stevie Lindler, Wyatt Minick, Noah Minick and Bentlee Lindler. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sardis Sunshine Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sardis Baptist Church, 2240 Sardis Road, Saluda SC 29138 or to the Gideons International Batesburg Camp, P.O. Box 2149. Leesville SC 29070.

Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting Mrs. Hite’s family with arrangements.
