Donnis Randall Jones Obituary

 

Donnis Randall Jones, 85, of Leesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born on July 24, 1940 in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Walter David and Beulah Shealy Jones. Randall attended Newberry County Schools and worked at the Kendall Plant in Newberry and Milliken in Saluda until he retired in 2004. He served in the SC National Guard. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where he had served as church councilman, treasurer of the Sunday School, member of the Lutheran Men, and the Keenagers group. Randall was also a member of the Hollywood Ruritan Club and an overseer of Pleasant Grove Community Center. He enjoyed football, camping, gardening, working in his yard, and traveling. Randall also loved attending Bingo with friends at Still Waters Baptist Church and was part of the JOY group at Celebration Church Fellowship.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and treasured time spent with his family. Surviving family members are his wife of 61 years, Joyce Shealy Jones; daughters, Donnis Alicia Crouch (James Hardy), Tonya Michelle Rodgers (Robert); grandchildren, Anna Joyce Rodgers Powell (Jake), Chase Stephens Crouch (EmmaLee); great- grandchild, Wesson Murray Powell; brother, Hugh Jones (Kay); and a special cousin, Jean. Randall was predeceased by his brothers, James, Morris, Wallace, Gordon, and Mac Jones.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Rev. William Strand, presiding and the Rev. Bill Ebener delivering the message. Remarks will be given by Rev. Joseph Hallman and Irene Derrick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jake Powell, Ronnie Jones, Jay Salter, Jason Burns, Travis Smith, Carey Bedenbaugh, and Todd Bedenbaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hollywood Ruritan Club. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Memorial Fund, 795 Prosperity Highway, Leesville SC 29070 or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital of Greenville, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

Randall lifted the spirits of everyone with his infectious smile and will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
