Donna Lynn Marsh

Donna Lynn Marsh, 68, passed from her earthly endeavors and headed for the gates of heaven singing her favorite song: “Jesus loves me”. Born November 26, 1956, she was the daughter of Leonard and Louise Harrington Marsh. Donna was a lifelong member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, and a dedicated member of the special-needs Sunday school class at First Baptist Church for 40 years. There she found love and acceptance from some of the finest and most caring people on this earth. Even though she lived a challenged life, it was a happy life. She faced her physical limitations with will and determination, and her always gentle nature. 

In her early years, Donna had many epic adventures: Six Flags, Carowinds, traveling the Blue Ridge and Smoky mountains with aunt Ruby, and cousins George and Tommy. She looked forward every year to camp at White Oak, vacation Bible school at First Baptist Church, riding every ride at the State Fair, and of course her birthday – celebrated every year at the family Thanksgiving reunion. Christmas was her favorite holiday, singing carols, seeking out light displays and waiting on Santa. Just think she was able to experience Santa Claus 68 times!

Donna was a resident of Sedgewood Manor for the last 19 years, where she was known for her perfect memory and love of singing. She could remember phone numbers, dates, music, and the full names of people even after decades.

Donna is survived by her cousin and guardian, George Stoudemire; cousins, Thom Stoudemire (Janice), JR Felts, all of Lexington, and Cathy Felts Schwalm of Greenville. Her family praises God and gives thanks for the multitude of friends she made throughout a life well lived.

There will be a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 3:00 PM. The family requests that memorials be sent to Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church of Columbia or First Baptist Church of Columbia's special-needs Sunday school program. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.

Donna Lynn Marsh will be remembered by all who knew her. Go forth young lady, your adventure is just beginning……..
