Deron Jaraski Black Obituary
On January 17, 1985, the world was blessed with the presence of Deron Jaraski Black, born to Mrs. Kyrra Hall and the late Mr. Ronnie Black. He is joined in heaven as well as an uncle, Mr. Lonnie Black. “Our beloved Deron left us peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025, after a few years of fighting heart disease.”
Mr. Deron J. Black attended Mount Olive C. M. E. Church, where he was a member of the musical choir. He attended and graduated from Gilbert High School, Gilbert, SC. After High School he attended USC School of Engineer, Columbia, SC and later Midlands Technical College of Columbia SC. Deron’s employment included CMC Recycling, Lexington, South Carolina; Goodwill Industries, Lexington, South Carolina, and business ownership of DJB Deliveries, LLC., Gilbert, South Carolina.
He is loved and missed by his mother and step-father, Kyrra and Vincent Hall of Gilbert, SC; step-brother, Aaron Hall (Tanisha) of Charlotte, NC; Aunts, Patricia Gates of Lexington, SC, Jennifer Dixon (Elwood Jr.) of Summerville, SC Rachael Harmon (Darrell) of Gilbert, SC; Uncles, Edward Black (Revola) of Lexington, SC, and Perry Cook of Gilbert, SC; one special nephew, Braxton Hall, Charlotte, NC; dedicated friend, Jessica Burton and family of Columbia, SC; godmother, Judith Bynum of Gilbert, SC and host of relatives and many sorrowing friends.
Deron’s passions were fishing, singing in the choir, cooking, sports and enjoying family and friends. He always had a supportive and uplifting word to give to all who knew him.
Special thanks to Duke Medical Center doctors, nursing staff, therapist, food service and each and every one who touched his life. They took excellent care of him and treated him like a king. He would always say, “Mom I’m a legend up here.”
A service will held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Mt. Olive C.M. E. Church with burial to follow at Good Hope Cemetery.
