Deloris Gantt Richardson Obituary

Deloris Gantt Richardson, 82, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away on April 3, 2025. Born December 16, 1942 in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late George Bell and Grace Kempson Gantt.

Deloris was predeceased by her husband, Terry Richardson; brother-in-law, Don Norris; nephew, Troy Norris, who was the apple of her eye; her four legged fur baby children: Squat, Barney, Prissy, Andy and Ginger.

She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Gantt Norris; nephew, Brian Patrick Norris; cousins, Deborah and Ken Banks, Bob Huffman, Lisa Langley, and her beloved cat, Sweet Pea.

After her retirement from the SC Commission of the Blind, she did what she did best, shopping and travels. She was very blessed and gifted with the ability of playing her piano, knitting, cross stitching and quilting. A kind, gentle loving soul, she will be missed by those she touched.

A Memorial Service  and Reception to follow will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Southland Memorial Gardens (main office building), 700 W. Dunbar Road, Columbia, SC. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Lexington County Animal Services, 321 Ball Park Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
