David Kneece Obituary

Graveside service for David McLeod Kneece, 90, will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Priceville Road Cemetery. To enable social distancing, viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Gilbert, SC. 

Mr. Kneece passed away Sunday, January 3, 2020. Born in Lee Co., he was the son of the late John D. and Lota McLeod Kneece. Mr. Kneece was a Korean War Veteran, where he served honorably in the US Air Force for nearly 30 years achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. David was inspired by his father, a veteran of WWI and his brother, James. Second Lt. James D. Kneece was killed in active duty during WWII and is interred at Sicily-Rome American Cemetery in Lazio, Italy. Mr. Kneece founded Kneece Appliance in 1979, and retired in 1997.  His son continues to run the business today.  He was honored to share his knowledge of horticulture as a Master Gardener through the local Clemson Extension.

Surviving include his wife of 43 years, Margie B. Kneece; sons, David E. (Kristal) Kneece and Daniel E. (Amy) Kneece; step-sons, James R. (Melissa) Brazell and Kenneth E. Brazell; step-daughters, Karen A. (Tom) Jones and Avis C. (Robert) Pilewski; sister, Mildred Suter; 14 grandchildren, Michael (Samantha) Brazell, Amanda Anderson, Carrie M. (Joseph) Vuoculo, Elizabeth Fulmer, Zachariah (Christina) Brazell, Josh (Kerri Anne) Brazell, Ryan Brazell, Terry (Nikki) Anderson, Kaylee, Cora, Jordin, Isla, Joslyn, Kamryn and Imersyn;  10 great-grandchildren; and 3 beloved four legged furry friends, Brooster, Avery, and Willie.

 He was predeceased by a brother, James D. Kneece; sister, Betty Jackson; and great-grandson, Jason Lee Dunning.
