Daniel "Luke" Taylor

Daniel “Luke” Taylor was called to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Luke was a blessing to everyone who ever met him. Luke was born in Bucharest, Romania but God brought him to Lexington, South Carolina to become a member of the Taylor family. Luke was passionate about three things: His Love for God, His Love for His Family and His Love for Sports.  He was a little man but he had a big heart.  

Luke is survived by his parents, Luther and Wanda Taylor of Lexington; three sisters, Miranda Miles (Ryan Miles), Monica Prewett, and Juliana Taylor; and one brother, Philip Taylor all of Lexington.  He is also survived by nephews, Noah and Eli Miles; and a niece, Taylor Miles.  He is survived by one sister, Georgiana Parvu, of Bucharest, Romania and a nephew in Romania.  Additionally, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Luke is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, D.C. and Kathleen Taylor; maternal grandparents, Carson and Loretta Smith; and his cousin, Randy Hughes. 

Funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, May 3, 2025 at First Calvary Baptist Church, 2320 Cedar Grove Road Leesville, SC where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 1:00-2:45 p.m.  Pallbearers will be Robert Boozer, Anthony Boozer, Gary Smith, Michael Smith, Marilyn Stokes, and Ryan Miles. The family would like that those who attend the service either wear Carolina Gamecocks, Carolina Panthers, or Atlanta Braves shirts or their team colors.  In lieu of flowers, the family request you send memorials to First Calvary Baptist Church or Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, Greenwood, SC. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Herring’s Sunday School Class. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
