Dana Boatwright Obituary

Dana Anne Boatwright passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 26, 2025 after a long, courageous 14 year battle with a brain tumor.  Dana was born August 13, 1976 in Rock Hill, SC to the late Liz and Dale Boatwright.  Dana grew up in Lancaster County and attended Lancaster County Schools.  Her junior and senior years of high school she attended the Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics in Hartsville, SC.  After graduating she went to Tulane University in New Orleans, LA for one year and then transferred to The University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC to complete her degrees in Biology and Mathematics. While at USC, Dana attended First Baptist Church. She was active in Campus Crusade for Christ and went on several mission trips with that ministry.

After graduating, she moved to Kannapolis, NC and began working for Endo Pharmaceutical Company as a Chemist.  She bought a house and became a faithful devoted member of Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis.  Dana was involved in many aspects of the church and women’s ministries as well as mission trips.  Dana enjoyed water sports and boating, golfing with her Daddy, traveling to golf tournaments, sewing and crafts of all types, building some of her own furniture, cooking, traveling and shopping with her Mama.

Dana enjoyed being with family and her many friends she made throughout her lifetime.  Most of all, Dana loved Jesus Christ and lived her life in gratitude for what He did for her. She loved missions and sharing Christ with others.  When her health no longer allowed her to travel and enjoy hobbies, she still enjoyed reading, watching movies, The Atlanta Braves Baseball, watching her USC Gamecocks and her little Pea Toad poodle, Zoe.
