Orean Dale Palmer
Leesville--Memorial services for Orean Dale Palmer, 67, will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Visitation will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Stephens Fund, 901 Orange Grove Rd., Charleston, SC 29407.
Mr. Palmer passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021. Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Pat Goodman Palmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War and retired from Pelion High School. Mr. Palmer also was a deacon in the Catholic Church becoming the first Native American ordained to such an honor.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Palmer his daughters, Joann Palmer Willard (Roger Wayne), Mary Ellen Cobb (Jeremy), stepchildren, Patricia, Clyde, Debbie, Katie, grandchildren, Devin Graham Davis, and Hannah Marie Boineau. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Mary Katherine Boineau, brothers; Joseph Palmer, Randall Brayboy, sisters, Kim Golden and Shay Brayboy.
