Services for Cynthia "Kay" Evans, 67, will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel with Rev. Roger Phillips and Rev. Randy Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ms. Evans requested all those attending her services “come as you are” and are encouraged to dress casually.
Ms. Evans passed away Friday, August 22, 2025. Born in Prosperity, she is a daughter of Sally Ruth Chavis Kirkland and the late George Harvey Kirkland. She attended Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church as long as her health permitted and worked at Amick Farms.
Surviving are her daughter, Renee Evans (Lindsey Davis), sons, Steven W. “Buck” Evans (Teresa Goff), Jason Evans (Rose Cockrell), and Cody Evans (Kayla), the father of her children, Steven E. Evans, sisters, Libby Reeves and Amy Price (Chris); her grandchildren that called her “Granny” are Brady, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Chloe, Jasalyn, Casey, Emmett and Wyatt, her great-grandchildren that called her “GiGi” are AllieRae, Harleigh, Braelyn, Dreycen, and Na’lainea “Tiny.” She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, James Reeves.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, her sister Libby and her niece Dixie for their loving care. Mama, you are gone from our sight but never from our hearts!
