Constance “Connie” Louise Smith 75, of Lexington, SC, went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 4, 2025 at Lexington Medical Center from a long illness.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, SC, on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am followed by the service at 11:30 am. The graveside service will immediately follow at Lexington Memorial Cemetery.
Connie was born on December 17, 1949 in Newport News, Va. She had an immense love for people, children, animals, and of course her career. Connie was a devout Christian and was constantly in the word. She was the owner of S&S Pools of Lexington and enjoyed serving her community with her knowledge of Chemistry. Charities and helping children were such a big part of her life since Connie was an orphan herself at the young age of 5. She had such a love for music, especially “The Oldies!” She would always be dancing and singing along with the music. Connie was a big personality in a small package. She had an impact on each person she interacted with. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, funny, full of joy, and a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence. She lived her life to the fullest. Her greatest joys and accomplishments were the gifts of being a Mom.
Connie is survived by her wonderful children, Leon Todd Smith (Kandice) of Branson, MO, Rachel Michele Smith (Nicholas) of Lexington, SC; Goddaughter, Jenny Peeler Solomon (Russell); her grandchildren, William Smith, Jordan Taylor, Carter Agran and Emma Grace Solomon; and her grand pups, Pixie, Fifi, Petey, Riggs, Loretta and Ellie.
Connie’s loss is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives she touched. Connie is predeceased by her mother, Shirley Mae Kemp; and her husband, Leon “Smitty” Smith.
Pallbearers will be Leon Todd Smith, Nicholas Waits, Russell Solomon and Russ Hiller.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Special Olympics of South Carolina and the Boys and Girls Club of America to honor Connie’s lifelong spirit of generosity.
