Mr. Cox was born August 27, 1938
in Asheboro, NC. He was the youngest of seven children; four brothers and two sisters born to Winford & Lenna Cox. He farmed on his family land as a child. In high school he drove a school bus for the elementary & high schools, and on the weekends worked in a full service gas station. When he graduated from high school, he began his career at Lowe's Home Improvement. Later he served in the US Army and was in charge of the large trucks motor pool. While serving, he played on the Army baseball team and was part of the Army color guard. He completed his service at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. He returned to Lowe's and after 20 years, retired for the first time. He began working with his brother-in-law in various adventures until his final retirement on his 65th birthday.
He loved Jesus, his family, and many friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, joking and visiting with others.
Mr. Cox is survived by Becky (Tim & Clyde) LeMoine; Michael Cox (John Croom); Jennifer (Sanjay, Andrew, Matthew) Patel; brother, Grady Cox; sister, Nina Dickens and many nieces and nephews.
He lived his life for Jesus, his children and doting on his two grandsons. He will be missed by all, and we find comfort in knowing he was welcomed into Heaven and is rejoicing with Jesus, his brothers, a sister, closest friend, many others, and his good girl Grace (his golden retriever companion for 17 years.)
