Claudine Hope Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Claudine Bevill Hope, who left us peacefully on June 2, 2026 at the age of 97. Born on November 18, 1928, in Springfield, GA, Claudine was a respected and loved member of the Lexington community where she resided for 58 years.

Claudine was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church serving on the Church Council and participating in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, WELCA, Leah Circle, and Prayer & Share. She was recently honored with the “Foundation of Hope” award from Mission Lexington as one of the founding members. Claudine’s community leadership was defined by a quiet, dedicated spirit where she shared and helped whenever she saw a need. Serving as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, chaperone for

middle school dances, a high school “band mom”, a member of the Quilting Ministry, and a joyous member of the Red Hat Society are just a few of her community contributions. Claudine also traveled the world extensively, instilling a deep love for new cultures and experiences in her children.

She is survived by her children, Gail Hope Robinson, William Larry Hope, Catherine Hope, and Karen Hope (Jack); her sister, Sallie Bevill Bazemore; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will forever cherish her nurturing spirit and unconditional love.

Claudine was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Weltha Bevill; her husband, William Lawrence Hope; and her sister, Dorothy Bevill Britt.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Sherry Berry, Donna Currey, The Pines of Columbia Assisted Living Facility, Lutheran Hospice, MSA Hospice, and the staff at Lexington Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life and a private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Mission Lexington both located in Lexington, SC. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
