Christa Springfield

Christa Springfield, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the age of 89.

Born on January 27, 1937, in Heinzendorf, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Monika Schmidt. After World War II, she traveled to West Germany at a young age in search of work and opportunity.

In 1963, Christa married Richard Davis, with whom she built a life in Harlem, Georgia. Later in life, she married Tim Springfield, who preceded her in death. She worked for many years in factories and as a waitress before retiring.

Christa was known for her love of travel, good food, and time spent enjoying the sunshine. She had a kind and generous spirit and will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and close friends.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Williams, April Current, and Wolfgang Schmidt; as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear friends.

A quiet, private viewing will be held at Barr-Price Funeral Home in Lexington
